Privacy & analytics

Your game progress

Scores, streaks and game progress stay in this browser’s local storage when available. They do not sync between devices or website addresses. Clearing browser data removes them.

Optional Google Analytics

If you choose “Allow analytics,” we load Google Analytics to measure page visits and gameplay, including starts, question progress, correct/incorrect outcomes, skips, completions and sharing actions. Google may use analytics cookies and receive browser/device, referring-site and approximate location information. We disable Google signals and advertising personalization in our tag configuration.

Our game events do not include your typed answer, name or email address. We strip query strings and fragments from the page and referrer URLs supplied by our tag. Google Analytics data is separate from your locally saved game history.

If you decline, we do not load the Google Analytics tag. You can change your choice using “Analytics choices” in the footer. Declining later stops future tracking through our tag and attempts to remove its analytics cookies; it does not delete information already received by Google. The game works with either choice. Analytics blockers may prevent measurement even if you allow it.

Other services

Hosting and domain providers may process ordinary access and security logs to deliver and protect the website. Email subscriptions, advertising and payment processing are not currently connected to the game. We will update this notice when those features change.
